That's right, its my turn to put my Aloe where my mouth is. I get married in January of '11 and I HAVE to drop a few pounds to be the bride I envision.
The Reason
Now to be honest I see heavier brides and I am bummed for them. Oh I know, it may be mean, or vain but I do not want to be that girl; thinking for the rest of my life when I look at my wedding photos, I should worked out harder and ate better before my wedding. Not to mention fitting into your wedding dress!
So after a fitting with my friend at the local Alfred Angelo, I sat watching a rather heavy girl squeeze into a size 18, I thought, that's it I won't do that to myself. I want to look my best, feel my best and have my future husband drool when I walk up the isle.
Now let's get one thing straight, I am not a big girl - by any means. I am petite but I think I could drop 5-8 pounds of love and look much better... I mean, I rather drop them and keep them off than hold on for no good reason! Even I have been on and off my Aloe Control. I won't deny it gets taxing taking something every day but now is the time to get it on! So, BRING ON THE ALOE CONTROL!!
As I have said in many blogs before, Aloe Control really does work. 1) The aloe helps you eliminate, cleaning out all the junk you have stored in your body. 2) It fills you up with nutrients, minerals and vitamins your body is probably lacking and 3) the awesome ingredients in Aloe Control helps curve your appetite without the crappy feeling of being hungry and grouchy. Yeah, I've tried other products, eh like SlimFast (great picture for their product though) too bad the actual drink makes you hungrier than not.
I am a big fan of the natural ingredients - no chemicals!!
The Plan
The plan from now until January will be simple, keep working out, eat less, drink more water and take my aloe control every day three times a day. The little mini bottles help to keep in my lunch bag at work or in my desk. I have the discipline for the work out, no problem getting up at 5:30 to run 3-5 miles every other day, and in between hitting the gym. The eating will be the challenge and that's where the aloe control comes into play! I also recommend those of you who can afford it, get a trainer who will teach you how to work certain areas of your body and will show you how to maintain your work out plan without hitting a wall.
The Goal
The goal is to drop no less than 5 and no more that 10 pounds by December 31st. Working out, eating right and less will work along with my Aloe Control! Don't believe me? Try it. Don't be the fat bride! I'll keep you posted and we'll see if I can have my size 6 dress taken into a size 4 by December!

Weight Loss and Aloe?
Aloe Vera Juice And Weight Loss
- also see http://drinkrealaloe.usaloe.com/products-aloecontrol.aspx
One of the most valuable health benefits for today’s society is aloe vera’s ability to assist weight loss. Aloe vera works to both reduce and stabilize the body mass index by stimulating the metabolic rate in our liver cells so that we burn more energy.
The energy used for this comes from fat and carbohydrate stores in the body. Drinking aloe vera juice every day has been likened to doing multiple workouts throughout the week.
Another reason why aloe vera works well as a weightloss supplement, is because it has a high content of collagen protein. When you drink aloe vera juice every day, the body has to spend additional energy to assimilate its protein into your system.
This extra expenditure of energy also supports weight loss and muscle development. Aloe vera reduces the amount of time food stays in your intestine, which means that less energy is absorbed from the food.
Throughout history aloe vera has been associated with achieving healthy body weight and it has been known as “the dietary plant” and “the harmony remedy.”
Aloe Vera Juice And Detoxification
Detoxification is another of the health benefits of aloe vera juice. Carrisyn, an extract of aloe vera, has been shown to stimulate the production of infection-fighting blood cells and in so doing strengthen the immune system.
Aloe vera juice contains amino acids, methionine, serine threonine and molybdenum, which work together to detoxify heavy metals and additionally aid in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and protein. This action prevents a build up of fat in the liver and the arteries.
These detoxification and laxative qualities of aloe vera juice, improve the efficiency of the colon, which is extremely important for good health. Poor colon health results in the re-absorption of toxins into the human body resulting in low energy and un-wellness.
Aloe vera juice contains nineteen amino acids, twenty minerals and twelve vitamins and as such is an excellent, natural nutritional supplement.

Losing it with AloeControl!
Losing it with AloeControl!
Ok people, how many shows are we going to watch on TV with over weight contestants losing an amazing amount of weight till we get up off our butts and join the movement instead of complain????
I recently returned from vacation and weighted myself. This was depressing.. deep breath... At 5'2" I weighed in at a shocking 129 pounds. OMG!!! SCREAM!!! After dropping my jaw, crying and then trying to figure out what the hell that happened, I decided that I had all the tools in front of me. No, I am not going to take a diet pill, no I am not going to put away my skinny jeans and NO I am not going to spend my beach days covered up! Its time to get motivated and it happen.
No More Muffin-Tops!
Step one was to decide what amount I wanted to loose. well, that was easy - 10 lbs.
Step two was to decide how. Exercise and Eat better. (Easier said than done, yeah I know)
Let's hang out at step two for a while shall we? Here is how I started: Google Calendar. Set up a workout schedule for myself. choose three days a week to do group fitness classes at my gym. Take two days lift weights at the gym, one day to do something outside (walk, hike or ride my bike) and then the 7th day to relax and enjoy the pain of sore muscles :)
I recommend for those who can't decide what day to do what, check out Self.com's self challenge. Take your week and mix it up. Spin, Zumba, Pilates, Yoga and some kind of high energy S.E.T. class.
Now to the eating. Portion Control and Aloe Control. Yes AloeControl. I know, I know. Hey It works! It increases your eliminations (yes the poops), it increases your body's want for water and it controls your hunger! The more your body wants water - the less you eat! Trust me just try it!
So food... weight your food, use your measuring cup - READ LABELS!!! Need more help? I recently started using a FREE online food log. It keeps me accountable for EVERY little thing I put in my mouth and trust me when I say, I think twice about eating that cookie when I know I have to log it. the website is: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ You can friend request me (Run2bFree) is my user name. You can do weight ins, exercise logs, food logs and share your progress with Facebook and Twitter!!! It keeps you honest and keeps you on track.
So far after two weeks I am down 8 pounds. YEY! I don't necessarily believe the calorie in has to equal calories burned - even as a runner and gym rat, I don't think I EVER burn the 1200 calories I eat a day. So I need a little help with Aloe Control. Seriously it is working. Read my past blogs on food ideas or email me. I use Women's Health constantly for food ideas and work out ideas. I would love to hear your success and struggle stories. My girlfriend Angie from Vegas recently lost 11 lbs. I am so proud of her! She did it with AloeControl and food portion control. It works if you work it!

The Vitamin Craze... ugh... Let's Simplify
How many pills do you pop to cover your vitamin and mineral needs?
I went through my bathroom cabinet and realized that I had over 5 horse pill looking capsules to take for what my doctor says I need for a woman my age... hmmm... I took out everything, laid them out on the counter top. I take, a women's one a day, a organic (right) prenatal for Folic Acid, 2 slow release for Iron and one for B vitamin. I worked once with a woman, very fitness oriented woman who took 9 pills a day! It was the craziest thing to watch her swallow then in sets of 3!!! Yikes!!
Now the question is how do we get away from having to take all these pills? Duh, the answer has been in my fridge! AloeAdvanced!!! My mother has been taking this product religiously for a year now. She has been treated for cancer and anemia. The doctor gives her B shots three times a week which boosts her energy levels. Well, now after 4 months of taking Aloe Advance, she does not need all the shots. She is now only receiving them once a month.
What is Aloe Advance?
This delicious tasting product was engineered with a purpose. The ingredients in AloeAdvanced™ are designed to support increased energy, stamina, and cardiovascular health while promoting healthy cholesterol, maintaining blood sugar levels, and providing your body with the building blocks it needs for maximum performance.
What makes AloeAdvanced™ so powerful?

I decided to toss all the pills and do what I told my mom to do and take Aloe Advance. Why bother trying to swallow all those horse pills everyday? Just Stop Now, toss the pills and start taking a delicious 2 oz bottle of Aloe Advanced.

What's in your Sports Drink?
We all know that when we work out, it's important to stay hydrated. Something we may not be so clear on is what exactly we should drink when we exercise.
Ordinary water, of course, is the classic choice. But with store shelves everywhere full of sports drinks, energy drinks, and various flavored, fortified waters, and let’s face it, sometimes water is just boring! What's an exerciser to do?
Experts say it all depends on your taste -- as well as the length and intensity of your workouts. Here's a quick note of what and why to drink…
Sports Drinks and Exercise
Basically, a sports drink offers your body four things it might need before, during, or after vigorous exercise:
Hydration. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that people drink about 17 ounces of fluid about two hours before exercise, to promote adequate hydration and allow time for the body to excrete any excess water. During exercise, they recommend that athletes start drinking early and at regular intervals in order to take in fluids at the rate they're losing them through sweating. Some athletes often take salt tablets (as does recent blog testimonial customer Kevin) to keep hydrated during strenuous work out periods. I would not as I do not do workout for the crazy long hours as he would.
Fuel The energy boost we all need to get the long ride, run, swim or workout done. I recommend the EnergyBoost from DrinkRealAloe.com with all natural ingredients, AloeBoost’s AloeVera provides a comprehensive source of vitamins and minerals to your body, containing more than 75 nutritional compounds on its own! In addition Aloe Vera enhances your body’s ability to absorb the blend of rich, smooth premium juices & supplements packed into every shot of AloeBoost™.
Reload & Recover The carbohydrates found in sweetened sports drinks provide energy to help delay fatigue. The Gatorade Co. says lab tests have shown that 6% carbohydrate (14 grams of carbohydrate per 8 ounces of water) is the optimal percentage of carbs for speeding fluid and energy back into the body. This is ideal for the average exerciser like you and me. J
Electrolytes or Minerals. These are things like sodium, potassium, and chloride that athletes lose through sweat. When water goes out of the body, so do electrolytes. And when the body is losing lots of water (as during exercise), it makes sense that you need to replace electrolytes. When considering this article, I asked my athlete of the day, Kevin G and he said along with his AloeBoost before his workout, he takes gels or gu to replenish his calorie usage during runs longer than 1 hour.
So why choose AloeBoost over your normal energy drink?
What's in Your Exercise Drink?
Below is some nutritional information, as available on labels, about some of the common sports and energy drinks available. And here's one more tip for staying hydrated when you work out: Whatever you choose to drink when you exercise, drink it well-chilled for faster absorption by the body.
